Close Up Students Travel to Washington, D.C.

This past weekend, OHS students traveled to Washington, D.C. through Close Up. Close Up is a program that sends high school students to our nation’s capitol for a week to learn about the diplomatic process. Not only will our students from Oakridge HS be experiencing all that Washington, D.C. has to offer, but they will also be exercising their political rights to deliver a petition of more than 1, 200 signatures to keep AmeriCorps funding to our state law makers.

WZZM13 News stopped by Oakridge High School before the students left on their trip, to learn more about their efforts and why this cause is so important to them. (See the Story)

We hope our students have an amazing experience in Washington, D.C.
