Eagle News Weekly (August 22, 2017)

August 22, 2017 – Eagle News Weekly

To further improve regular and meaningful communication between home and school, we have created “Eagle News Weekly”.  This weekly email will be issued to all employees and parents with email addresses on file.  This is the first edition!  We are working on expanding this communication to allow anyone to subscribe to Eagle News Weekly including grandparents, friends, and the community at large.  Stay tuned!

Building Offices Open

  • Our offices are now open and we are enrolling new students to our district. Please help us spread the word as you see new neighbors and community members.

First Day of School – Tuesday, September 5, 2017 is a “Late Start PD Day”

  • Every Tuesday throughout the school year (with the exception of June 12, 2018) will start 1 hour later than other days to allow for Teacher Professional Development (PD) time.
  • Every Tuesday, classes will begin at 8:43am for OHS/OMS, 9:20am for OUE, 9:35am for OLE.  GSRP (preschool) and ECSE (early childhood special education) do not follow the “Late Start PD Days”.

Teacher Assignments & Forms

  • Teacher Assignments will be mailed to OLE/OUE parents on Monday, August 21.  Registration Packets have already been mailed to MS/HS parents. If you did not receive a packet in the mail, please contact or stop by your student’s building office.
  • Any forms that need to be turned in can be brought to your building’s open house event or send these forms with your student on the first day of school.

Transportation

Food Services

  • We are excited to announce Universal FREE Breakfast for ALL Oakridge students K-12 every day!  We hope this allows more students to start their day nourished and prepared to learn.  Federal meal reimbursement funding allows Oakridge to provide this for our students.
  • Updated Lunch prices have been added to our website.  Visit www.oakridgeschools.org/departments/food-service/ to view new prices.
  • Applications for free/reduced price meal eligibility are available from our website at  www.oakridgeschools.org/departments/food-service/ .  You may also contact Kristie Long at (231) 788-7321.
  • If your student qualified for free or reduced price meals last year, you will still need to complete a new application for the 2017/18 school year.

Athletics

  • The 2017/18 Season Pass and Athletic Ticket Price information has been added to our website at www.oakridgeschools.org/high-school/athletics/ .
