Thursday, January 31, 2019
You may have seen the videos that have gone viral of administrators across the State of Michigan singing about the recent snow days? The Oakridge administrative team does not sing (at least not well). Eagle Nation, we have a snow day(s) challenge for you. We want to see and hear your best remix. We have taught you to read, write, rhyme, and sing. You’ve learned science, math, computers, and art. Now we want you to put it all together. Send us the best remix of a song—rewrite it, sing it, dance it (families, friends, sports team, etc.). Whatever you can think of.
How do you find the challenge? Head over to the official Facebook Page of Oakridge Public Schools and look for the post with Mrs. Jimenez. Post your submission in the comments section of that post using the hashtag #OakridgeSnowDays2019. All submissions are due by 8:00 a.m. Monday, February 4th. The grand prize winners will receive a $50 gift card to Barnes and Noble, $50 gift card to K2 Pizza, $50 Target gift card, $25 Wesco gift card, and free movie night and pop/popcorn at the Grand Haven 9 for the group. Thank you, vendors, for your generous donations!
Mrs. Jimenez and daughter Tomi have kicked us off and have set the bar high.
Are you a business that would like to add to the prize bag (it is always good to up the ante)? Please tag yourself in the comments with your contribution or contact Pollie Gilchrist at 231.670.7984. All videos will be posted on the district Facebook page next week.
You may post your entries in the comments or send them to Pollie Gilchrist, Director of Academic Programs, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
