Unity Peace Walk for Unity Day at OLE

Students at the Lower Elementary participated in Pinwheels for Peace yesterday. Over 600 pinwheels were placed on the front lawn as a symbol of peace and unity. (created in Art with Mrs. Olson) All students also went on a Unity/Peace walk for Unity Day.
Students also have been working on ways to promote anti-bullying and acceptance of others in health class (Mrs. Woods)   Students created a Unity tree where students in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd wrote about one way they could stop bullying or be a friend. Through the story “Spookley The Square Pumpkin” our kindergarten students learned about bully prevention, tolerance, and acceptance.  Students created a garden of different pumpkins to signify that we are all different and that’s what makes us special.
