At Oakridge Middle School, we sponsor several interscholastic sports. Seventh grade is the first opportunity for Oakridge students to experience interscholastic sports. The sports sponsored by the school are: boys’ and girls’ basketball, grades 7 & 8, girls volleyball, grades 7 & 8, football, grades 7 & 8, boys and girls track, grades 7 & 8, and boys and girls cross country, grades 7 & 8.

Oakridge Middle School is a member of the  and follows all the MHSAA rules of eligibility and competition. The MHSAA promotes a philosophy for junior high/middle school athletics that states that the program should parallel that of the academic philosophy of junior high/middle schools. Schools should encourage participation and experiences in a variety of activities. The goal of “winning” must be superseded by the goal of participation.

Oakridge Middle School is a member of the West Michigan Conference. Currently, the league members are Whitehall, Hart, Ravenna, North Muskegon, Montague, Shelby, and Mason County Central.

In addition to the interscholastic programs sponsored by the school, several community-based programs provide activities for our students. Those community programs include tackle football, soccer, baseball, softball, and cheerleading. Contact the Association at for further information.

Pay to Play

Oakridge High School and Middle School athletes are required to pay $50.00 to participate in athletics in our district. This fee covers all sports played by the athlete for the current school year. An athlete must have the fee paid by the first athletic contest in his/her given sport or he/she will not be allowed to participate until the fee is paid.
