Friday, June 2, 2017
Being a part of the Girls on the Run program is much more than just running a 5K. This group of girls are required to participate in a running program, but also have to do a community impact project. The Oakridge Girls on the Run group decided to do TWO this year.
For one project, the girls volunteered their time and did yard clean up for three senior citizens in our District.
For the second project, the girls promoted a hat day to raise money for Pound Buddies of Muskegon (a local animal shelter). The girls used the money they raised to purchase and donate much-needed supplies to the shelter.
Tomorrow, Saturday June 3rd, the Oakridge GOTR group will participate in their 5K Race in downtown Muskegon. Good luck, ladies! You’ve had a phenomenal year!
