Attention Oakridge families, students, and staff! We are about to embark on an inspiring 30+ day journey that puts our students’ dreams—and the dedication it takes to reach them—front and center.

Consistent attendance isn't just about a seat in a classroom; it’s about the bridge between who our students are today and who they will become tomorrow. To celebrate this, we are officially launching a fun social media campaign as part of our Show Up Challenge!

STUDENTS SEE THEIR FUTURE

Starting tomorrow, for the next 30+ consecutive days, keep your eyes on our social media channels. Each day, we will recognize and celebrate a different student who has maintained stellar attendance. The videos will follow a powerful transformation:

  1. The Dream: A student will look into the camera and proudly declare, "I SHOW UP because I want to be a [Career]!"

  2. The Reality: In a cinematic transition, you’ll see that student’s vision come to life as they transform into an adult version of a professional in that field.

  3. The Roadmap: We won't just show the dream; we’ll list the specific skills that the student is mastering right now in our classrooms to make that career a reality.

To join our students in the fun, I posted a version of myself transforming into a video game creator. Yes, I think it would be cool to create digital learning experiences for students using my “ed tech” background and experience. Maybe someday : )

We know that behind every student with great attendance is a supportive village. Every post will be dedicated to you—our parents and guardians. We’ll be sharing:

  • Encouraging Words: Celebrating the hard work you do to get your kids out the door.

  • Research-Based Tips: Practical, proven strategies to help overcome common attendance hurdles, from establishing "sleep hygiene" routines to building "morning-ready" habits.

This initiative is a core part of our broader Show Up Challenge. We believe that when students show up, they move up. By highlighting the direct link between daily attendance and future career success, we are showing our kids that their goals are within reach—one school day at a time.
